Orioles outfielder Nick Markakis played six innings in right field on Tuesday for the first time this spring and said afterward that he felt better than expected.
Making his fourth start of the spring season, Orioles lefty Brian Matusz allowed one run over five innings to the Phillies on Tuesday. Matusz wasn't particularly impressive, but he did manage to work his way out of several jams, getting three double-play balls and scattering seven hits and a walk in the 65-pitch outing.
Led by a strong outing from starter Roy Halladay, the Philadelphia Phillies edged the Baltimore Orioles, 4-1, on Tuesday afternoon at Ed Smith Stadium. Orioles starter Brian Matusz was able to match Halladay, allowing just one run on seven hits over five innings.
